Explore Pohnpei

With dozens of waterfalls, ancient ruins and some of the clearest water you've ever seen, Pohnpei is easy to fall in love with.

Pohnpei is one of the islands belonging to the Federated States of Micronesia. It is approximately 96 kilometres around.

The Federated States of Micronesia consists of 607 islands stretching 2900 kilometres.

Many of these islands are very small and uninhabited.

The majority of people in Pohnpei speak Pohnpeian, which is the second-most broadly spoken language in the Federated States of Micronesia. English is taught in schools and widely spoken.

Like other locations we fly to, the climate in Pohnpei is warm and tropical. There are typically only two seasons - wet and dry.

The wet season is April to December (most rain between July and October), while the dry season is December to April.

The official currency of the Federated States of Micronesia is the US Dollar and ATMs are available in most of the major islands.

Cash is most prevalent, although most large tourist businesses and hotels will accept major credit cards.
