Gareth Ruhe is one of the faces behind our new airline images. For Gareth Ruhe, plane spotting is a way to socialise with like-minded enthusiasts. Initially, Gareth pursued photography as an outlet for his mental health. Since then, he’s become focused on trying to capture the perfect photos of aircraft. Getting the perfect photo is “a matter of patience and the right weather conditions."
Gareth lived in Honiara for eight years and stayed some additional time in Vanuatu.
He recalls seeing the old Air Nauru on the tarmac and recently has supplied many of the recent images of VH-INU in its new colours. As a long-time supporter of Nauru Airlines, Gareth has found inspiration in our new livery.
“I love that Nauru Airlines has brought back the much-loved livery with the colours of the Nauruan flag with the star on the tail. It shows off the true pride of Nauru,” he said.
“I felt the reinvention of the livery on the B737-700 aircraft needed to be photographed and shared with the various plane spotting communities." We used Gareth’s images for our inaugural postcard that was handed out on the first departure of ON002/001.
