Nauru Judoka Team consisting of brothers employed at Nauru Airlines, Iniki Uera and 2016 Olympian Ovini Uera, accompanied by their official Mr Jango Jeremiah, departed on Tuesday, 20 November 2018, to compete at the Osaka Japan Grand Slam Event.

They will be competing from November 23-25 2018.

Nauru Judoka is the second Sport Federation which Nauru has been represented at the Olympic Arena, with weightlifting being the first. Judo has been gaining a lot of popularity amongst the Nauru youth community.

This is evident from the latest Nauru Airlines sponsorship allowing the transfer of six (6) boxes of Gi Uniforms from Nadi to Nauru on Friday 16 November 2018. Presentation of the six (6) boxes was made to Nauru Judoka by Nauru Airlines Country Manager at the Nauru Judo Gym in Denig on Saturday 17 November.

The team presented the Airline with a cake, thanking the Airline for its continued support.
